There's nothing like moving to completely stress you out.
I picked Rob up from the airport on Sunday. We stopped at Elon and had dinner with my sister, then headed home. My dad and FIL were supposed to pack up the truck Sunday afternoon. FIL said he'd be there at a certain time and then showed up 3 hours late, so my dad was pissed, and FIL was pissed that dad was pissed. *rolls eyes*
So Monday you could cut the tension between them with a knife. Don't you love it when grown men act like 5 year olds?
So...we got all the crap moved in the apartment, had a late lunch, then they left. Rob and I attempted to make a dent in the boxes.
Tuesday morning when I woke up, I couldn't walk, I was so sore. Seriously, I looked like I was about 80 years old. It was pathetic. I had to crawl up the stairs. Not fun.
Wednesday, my mom came to help us. She did some cleaning, got us a few groceries, and stuff like that. She left Friday morning.
So...this weekend we unpacked more stuff, bought a new computer desk, and attempted to set up the wireless network. No such luck. We had to take the router back, but that was OK because they gave us $10 back and a rebate for another $10. There are still a lot of little things to do, like hang pictures and go through boxes marked things like "junk from end table drawers" but we have knocked out the big things so hopefully Rob can relax now.
Actually, we're back in VA today. We had lunch with the inlaws, and need to bring back a few more things. I think my trusty mini coffeepot that I've had for 6 years if finally going to bite the dust. Sorry Josh, but it had a good run and served me faithfully.
Not much else going on...I'm dreading getting back to NC because it means I have to start attempting to write a draft of my research project, which is due Sunday. I start work Monday and I am scared to death. And Rob leaves Saturday.
He is thinking about extending in Korea to stay there for another year before he ETSs. There are pros and cons, the main pro being he won't have to go to Iraq. Who knows. It seems as if no choice will be a good one. We'll be apart anyway, so I guess I'll just tell him to extend and stay the hell out of the Middle East. *sigh*
Sometimes I long for a "normal" married life where I could actually live with my husband.
Oh well. Enough complaining. There's an update for ya. There probably won't be another for about a week, so enjoy!
