We're heading down to Austin tonight to check out 2 cars. :-)
The first is the nice Wolfsburg edition turbo I discussed previously. The second is a year older and has 20,000 more miles, and is only about $1,500 cheaper. It still has everything I want, turbo engine, sunroof, power everything, and is a very pretty shade of marroon. But when the guy found out that Rob is military, he told us he'd give us a fantastic deal.
So Rob's getting off work early tonight (hey, they had unit graduation Friday...they're pretty much done. Well, Rob's working on the phase birds and needs to finish that, but he can leave early once. He's always there until 7 or 8 pm, so getting off early won't destroy the shop). We've got an appointment at 6-6:30 for the marroon one, and Rob's still waiting for a call back from the dealer who has the blue one.
Oh, and this is interesting. Rob called to get a quote on insurance for the jetta...you know, it wouldn't do to buy a new car and not be able to drive it because you can't afford insurance. So...it turns out it's cheaper to keep Rob's car insured and just drop it to liability (woo hoo for not having to have full coverage once it's paid off!) as well as the Jetta, then to just insure the Jetta. Can anyone tell me why that is?
The mailman has stopped delivering our mail, even though the form I filled out stated that they should forward our mail starting April 28th. So...we have to call and have them deliver our mail. Just what I need, to have sold the Probe and not be able to get the title from my Mom because the morons won't give me my mail. *sigh* Moving's such fun, ain't it?
I'm off to read a chapter on control and evaluation in the library (?), work on my group project (hmm, haven't heard from my group members in a week), then shower and get ready to spend another evening in Austin car shopping.
